Rules for using lacinii.
These terms set out the agreement between you and lacinii when you use our website, application, and classroom workflow services. Please read them carefully.
1. Introduction
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the lacinii website, web application, and related services. By using lacinii, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
lacinii is operated by the lacinii team. For questions about these terms, contact info@pineweb.eu.
2. Definitions
- "Service" means the lacinii website, application, transcription workflow, and any related support or hardware provided by lacinii.
- "School" means the school, trust, ministry, or other organisation that has entered into an agreement with lacinii.
- "User" means any teacher, pupil, administrator, or other person who accesses the Service through a School account.
- "You" means the individual or organisation accepting these terms.
3. Using the service
You may use the Service only for lawful educational purposes and in accordance with these terms and any agreement between lacinii and your School. You agree not to:
- Use the Service to record, transcribe, or share any lesson without proper authorisation.
- Attempt to bypass security controls, scrape data, or interfere with the Service's operation.
- Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or harmful code.
- Use the Service in a way that violates applicable law or the rights of others.
- Share account credentials or allow unauthorised access to a School account.
4. Accounts and access
Schools are responsible for creating and managing user accounts, ensuring that only authorised users have access, and maintaining accurate account information. Individual users are responsible for keeping their login details secure.
lacinii may suspend or terminate access to any account that appears to violate these terms, pose a security risk, or misuse the Service.
5. Service description
lacinii provides an AI-native classroom workflow that captures classroom audio, converts it to text, generates summaries and learning materials, and makes those materials available to authorised users. The Service is provided on a best-effort basis and may evolve as we improve it.
We do not guarantee that transcription or summaries will be 100% accurate. Teachers and schools remain responsible for reviewing outputs before relying on them for assessment, reporting, or other important decisions.
6. Pricing and payment
lacinii is offered to schools through negotiated agreements. Pricing, payment terms, contract length, and scope are agreed directly with each School and documented in a separate contract or order form. These website terms do not override the terms of any signed school agreement.
Unless otherwise agreed, invoices are due within the timeframe stated on the invoice. Late payments may result in suspension of the Service.
7. Intellectual property
lacinii owns all intellectual property rights in the Service itself, including software, designs, logos, and documentation. Schools and users retain ownership of the lesson content, transcripts, and summaries they create using the Service.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service without our prior written consent.
8. Confidentiality and privacy
Transcripts, summaries, and other lesson outputs are confidential to the School and its authorised users. lacinii will handle all personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and any data-processing agreement with the School.
9. Termination
Either party may terminate a school agreement in accordance with its terms. On termination, we will cooperate with the School to export or delete data as agreed and as required by law.
We may also suspend or terminate access immediately if a user breaches these terms, misuses the Service, or creates legal or security risk for lacinii or others.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, lacinii is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount paid by the relevant School for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or €100 if no payment was made.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
11. Warranties and disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, except as required by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every educational use case.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Latvia. Any dispute arising from these terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Latvia, unless mandatory local law requires otherwise.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page with an updated effective date. Material changes will be notified to Schools and, where appropriate, to users. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated terms.
